The beginning
On 15.09.1903 Theodor Schemberg was born in Dülmen. His parents soon moved to the small village Buer at Gelsenkirchen, and the father was a mountain man at the "Pütt". Theodor likes working with wood. So he started an apprenticeship as a carpenter.
He was a journeyman when he met his future wife, Anita.
1928
On 05.06.1928, a son and heir were born. He is baptized like the father of Theodor. Theodor Schemberg jun. will continue the company later.
1932
On 09.07.1932 the carpenter Theodor Schemberg sen. went into business for oneself in Buer. He started really "at the bottom". The first workshop was in the basement of the house in Akazienstrasse 7th.
As of 01.08.1932 it was rent a workshop for 20 German Marks monthly on the Hagen Road 8 and there was the appointment of the first apprentice.
From the outset, mainly business rooms were established. So the first letterhead shows the following text: "Preparation of complete shop establishment all industries ..."
1948
Schemberg built the clothing store C & A in Wuppertal-Elberfeld.
At this time, many retail stores were built. There was a lot to do for a punctual and reliable shop manufacturer.
The second generation of the family Schemberg, Theodor jun., made the training of carpenters.
1953
SCHEMBERG took over the management of the carpenter Bedenbecker in Mettingen at 20.04.1953. At this time there were approximately 20 employees.
1958
The new company premises at the corner Vinkestrasse/Colony Street in Gelsenkrichen-Buer is obtained. The surface area of 800 m² appeared huge for that time.
1966
Due to the steady development, there were built halls for the bank-room and the engine-room with a total of approx. 1.200 m² in Mettingen. Also there was built a large garage for the new truck. The heating system was renovated and expanded. The first Euro Shop was arranged and, of course, SCHEMBERG belongs to the first exhibitors!
1972
The company's headquarters was relocated in Mettingen. Theodor Schemberg jun. took over the leadership of the company. In Mettingen there was the possibility of future expandability.
1976
The company's founder Theodor Schemberg sen. died on 05.01.1976.
1982
Because of the increasing production and the increasing number of machines, the chipping bunker got too small. An advanced, clean heating system with 800 KW and a 150 cm large chipping bunker chips was built.
1985
All surfaces in the company -until the last spot- were exploited, a 1.500 m² warehouse was built and used as bank-room.
1987
Due to the rapid business development, it is already too tight! A warehouse and shipping hall with 750m ² was built. The company is reorganized to use the space in a better way.
1992
On 09.04.1992 Theodor Schemberg jun., the son of the company founder Theodor Schemberg sen., died. The company management is continued by his wife Rosemarie and his son Carsten.
1993
The first CNC-machine-center started to work in April. The move into the next millennium was made.
1995
And again it is too small...The warehouse and shipping hall was increased until 1.500m ².
The house of the sisters Haverkamp was acquired after their death, and was rebuilt as administrative building. There are now the accounting and commercial order processing. An automatic plate saw was employed.
1999
There will be a very large reconstruction!
Due to the ever good development, some buildings are demolished. The 1966 as bank-room created hall is completely stripped and the modern technical management is built. The also 1966 created engine-room is demolished for a small passage. At this point a 1.250 m² warehouse with 2 bridges is built. In the passage are placed the administrative canteen, social rooms, an office and a large meeting room. There is installed a new paint shop according to the newest knowledge.
2000
The second CNC-machine-center is in operation.
2005
For the further expand there was built a 550 m² warehouse and logistics platform in the transit hall. The third CNC-machine-center is put into operation.
2007
SCHEMBERG celebrates his 75-years birthday!
